MB Feeds Sun, 06 May 2012 05:00:00 EST Highlights of the Weekly Maine Bird Alert http://www.mainebirding.net/rba/ pgarrity@mainebirding.net (Paul Garrity) en-us http://www.mainebirding.net/rba/http://www.mainebirding.net/graphics/mbLogo_small.pngMainebirdingnetBirdAlerthttp://feedburner.google.comSubscribe with My Yahoo!Subscribe with NewsGatorSubscribe with My AOLSubscribe with Google <p>Reporting Period: April 30 - May 6, 2012<br /><br /><b>York County</b> (<a href="/maps/mapYorkCty">map</a>)<br /><br />A COMMON GALLINULE was seen in a small pond on the west side of Route 16, just north of the intersection of Route 16 and Pond Brook Road on the 6th.<br /><br />A HOODED WARBLER continuing from April 29th at the Biddeford Pool Land Trust off 7th Street was last reported on the 30th.<br /><br />On the 5th a PROTHONOTARY WARBLER was found on the edge of the pond at the end of Elphis Street at Biddeford Pool and it continued throughout this period.<br /><br /><b>Greater Portland</b> (<a href="/maps/mapPortland">map</a>)<br /><br />Two LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSHES were seen on the 30th downstream of the Windham Center Road Bridge over the Pleasant River.<br /><br />Highlights from the Scarborough Marsh this week included: a CATTLE EGRET at Seavey's Landing on April 30th, two WHITE-FACED IBIS and one TRICOLORED HERON typically seen near Dunstan Landing, and an early STILT SANDPIPER was seen off the Eastern Trail on May 2nd and 3rd.</p><p><a href="http://www.mainebirding.net/rba/2012-05-06">Read the full bird alert on Mainebirding.net</a></p> <p>The Maine Bird Alert is compiled and distributed by email from Maine Audubon.
